Igor joins in for Fleche

Igor will join the team for tomorrow's Fleche Wallonne. The diminutive climber has been displaying excellent form of late and will no doubt be a big reinforcement for the team. With him in the ranks the team has finally got a realistic hope of placing a rider on the podium. Joining Igor will be the seven riders that did Amstel on Sunday, namely Egoi, Iñaki, Gorka, Alán, JJ, Aitor Galdós and Mikel. Sports director for the race, Gorka Gerrikagoitia, expressed his delight at Igor's inclusion and reiterated the team's goal of getting a rider on the podium, admitting that it'd be "very difficult, but not impossible."

It will be very exiting to see what Igor can do in Fleche, he seems to be in great form! If the team can deliver him in a good position at the bottom of Mur de Huy, and he can keep calm (not attacking in the first half of the hill), then he might perhaps be up there fighting for the win!

He might be up there, but I'm just sceptical given that he's no explosive climber. Igor thrives on the longer, steadier climbs I reckon.

He's also doing well on small steep parts of climbs, remember Suisse 2008 where after a normal climb the last kilometre was very steep.

But hey, we'll see today, I'm curious as well.

Mur de Huy is special, guys like Andy Schleck and Cadel Evans have made good results there, and I wouldn't call them "explosive" either. But it will be interesting to see, aupa Igor!

He did reasonably :P

Good to see them in front even when Sanchez is not riding.

With a proper flight and no stupid attack with 10k to go he may as well have won the thing.
